What an account keeps
Searching Near Fine needs no account and keeps nothing about you. An account, for alerts, keeps only what alerts need, and deleting it deletes all of it.
What we keep
- Your email address, to send sign-in links and alerts.
- Your alerts: each search and country, when it was last checked, the listings it has already seen and what it found.
- When you last signed in, and a record for each browser you’re signed in on, which the session cookie names.
- Which AI assistants you connected to set your alerts, when you connected each and when it last used Near Fine for you.
- If you pay for a plan: your Stripe customer number, the plan and when it’s paid until.
No password, no IP address, no analytics. The one cookie is described on the cookies page.
For how long
As long as the account exists. An alert runs for six months unless you keep it going, then stays on your list until you delete it. If you ask for a sign-in link and never use it, your address is deleted after a day. An assistant you connected stays connected until you disconnect it, or until it goes 90 days without using Near Fine.
Deleting it
Your account page disconnects assistants and deletes your account. Your email address, your alerts, your sign-ins and the assistants you connected go from our database straight away.
Who handles it
- Resend sends our emails, so it sees your address and what each email says.
- Cloudflare serves the site and passes each request on to us.
- Hetzner runs the server and the database.
- Rollbar records errors on the site, with the request that caused them, but not your email address.
- Stripe takes payments for paid plans, so it holds your billing details and keeps its payment records for as long as tax law asks.
- When an alert is checked, its search goes to the booksellers and to OpenRouter, which runs the model that judges the listings. Your email address never does.
- An AI assistant you connect sees the alerts it sets and lists, and what they found, but not your email address.
