About

One search, booksellers everywhere

Near Fine finds books. Type a title, an author or an ISBN, with anything else you’re after, such as a first edition or a price cap, and it asks booksellers around the world at once. You see every offer that can reach you, with shipping, in your currency and with sellers near you first.

Where it looks

How results are ranked

Best match puts the books closest to your search first. Best deal ranks by what you’ll pay including shipping, giving an edge to new copies and to sellers in your own country, which tend to arrive sooner, and counting against sellers abroad that don’t publish their shipping. An ISBN search, or one where most results are the same edition, switches to Best deal on its own.

Alerts

Can’t find it yet? Sign in and choose Alert me on a search, and Near Fine keeps looking. You get one email when a new listing turns up that has everything you asked for, and you can tell it to keep looking from there. Five alerts are free, checked once a day. Plans watch more books, more often.

The name

“Near fine” is the booksellers’ grade for a copy just short of perfect. Near Fine was called Part.ly until October 2026, and part.ly still works.

How Near Fine makes money

Some of the links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the bookseller pays Near Fine a small commission. It costs you nothing extra and has no bearing on how results are ranked.

The rest comes from paid plans for alerts, which keep more alerts going and check them more often. Searching stays free.

For AI assistants

Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants can search Near Fine through its MCP server: AI assistants shows how to connect one. Developers will find the MCP server and the JSON API in the docs.

Who runs it

Near Fine is run by Line of Flight B.V., Raphaëlstraat 25-2, 1077 PN Amsterdam, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 90477014. Questions, or a bookseller we should add? Write to [email protected].
